GATHERING AROUND THE GIVING TREE

Before Thanksgiving Break, Ms. Harvey's Faith in Action class held a "Grinch Who Saved Christmas" themed all-school assembly during Lit/Study on Tuesday to introduce the Prep community to this year's Giving Tree initiative.

As we prepare our hearts and homes to celebrate the birth of Christ, the annual Giving Tree program offers the entire Prep community a chance to support the good work of local social service organizations that serve those most in need at this time. Each grade level has adopted a local organization to focus their generosity:

🎁 Freshmen will adopt Ronald McDonald House and collect toys/gifts and winter coats for children and youth (ages 0-12) for the families served by Ronald McDonald House.

🍼 Sophomores will collect diapers, baby formula, and winter clothing for infants and toddlers for Westside Baby.

🎒 Juniors will adopt Recovery Cafe and collect hygiene items, warm socks, blankets, and other winter weather items for the guests at Recovery Cafe. Hygiene items should be travel-sized!

🎁 Seniors will collect holiday gifts for teens (ages 13-18) for Treehouse for Kids.

🎄 Additionally, on an actual Christmas tree, all community members can pick up ornaments that request gift cards for $10-25 to places like Target, QFC, Safeway, Whole Foods, and Starbucks - all places downtown and close to Catholic Housing Services communities (specifically St. Martin's on Westlake, Bakhita Gardens, and Dorothy Day House). The gift cards will go to residents of these three communities.

All donations are due by Wednesday, December  17, which gives us time to deliver all that we collect to our community partners. Thanks in advance for all your generosity this season! Email Ms. Miller & Ms. Harvey in the Service and Justice program with any questions.

GRATIA — AN OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THANK YOU TO OUR EDUCATORS

There is a longstanding tradition at Seattle Prep of showing appreciation for our faculty and staff through a monthly meal called Gratia. The Gratia program is part of the Parent Association, and each month the Gratia team, comprised of parent volunteers, serves a meal to show our gratitude for the people who support our students every day. In recent months, we have included a fun $50 gift card drawing at the conclusion of each meal. The staff looks forward to these meals throughout the year, and many say it is a true highlight.

We have an opportunity for ALL families to give the gift of appreciation this holiday season! Please click here to donate to the fund that provides treats, coffee, lunches, and more to our awesome faculty and staff throughout the school year. We can't make this invaluable event happen without your support, and it's the perfect way to say "THANK YOU" to the 130 staff members at Prep!

Please reach out to Laura Matter with any questions.
