PANTHERS TAKE OFF TO DC FOR IGNATIAN CONFERENCE

"Presente" said this group of 18 Panthers at the their send-off for the annual Ignatian Family Teach-in for Justice last Thursday. Presente is that traditional response when a school's name is called at the IFTJ opening ceremony, signifying their readiness to learn and engage. Students addressed their peers, faculty, and family and proclaimed their intentions for the summit in Washington D.C., planning to bring back their lessons and findings to the broader Prep community, uplifting service and justice for all.

She generously offered free tickets to the zoo to all students who attended her presentation.

YOUNG SCHOLARS TEACHING THEIR PEERS

Elizabeth Doyle '26 recently presented the results of her summer research experience on mitochondrial dysfunction in age-related macular degeneration to her AP Biology class. Elizabeth participated this past summer in the Young Scholars Program at UC Davis, working in Dr. Cecilia Guilivi's molecular bioscience lab.  Her 6-week experience included active research, preparing a manuscript for publication, and a final presentation of findings. Great work Elizabeth, and thank you for sparking curiosity in your peers!

CHOIR TRAVELS TO CWU FESTIVAL

On Friday, November 14, students in Seattle Prep’s Advanced and Window Choirs participated in the CWU Fall Choral Classic in Ellensburg, Washington. The choir performed at the festival, was adjudicated by choral professionals and had clinics with CWU professors. Their performance of “Steal Away” was called “the most sublime piece I’ve heard all morning” by one CWU professor. Congrats Prep Choir!

OFFICE HOURS SCHEDULE

Tuesday, November 18 is an “office hours” schedule, intended to give additional time for teacher/student meetings and intentional support. Classes end at 2PM with a flexible time provided at the end of the day for teacher/student conferences, study sessions, and extra help.

Teacher requested meetings are considered mandatory. Students may also request meetings from their teachers or counselor. Study spaces are available and those choosing not to utilize office hours support are free to leave campus.

COUNSELING CORNER

Next week, seniors in Faith and Action will be going into Junior Theology classes to lead workshops on the topic of healthy relationships. They'll be using resources from One Love Foundation, a national non-profit whose mission is to end relationship abuse by empowering students with tools to spot the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring research-based education to their communities. Thank you to our Faith in Action seniors who have volunteered to lead workshops for their peers! For questions about the One Love curriculum, please email counseling.
