Goodwin Club

The John Goodwin Club is an opportunity to directly support the athletic department.
Seattle Prep does not require individual support registration or try-out fees. Goodwin Club funds go toward state tournament expenses, coaches' education and specialty equipment for student-athletes.

Success comes at a price - a sticker price - and the costs to fund long postseason runs for our teams adds up over the course of the school year.  During the 2024-2025 school year, the Goodwin Club covered over $43,000 in costs directly attributed to our student-athletes participation in postseason competitions.  From transportation and hotel rooms, to team meals and the ever popular "State Bound" shirts, the Goodwin Club helps create memories that our student-athletes will take with them forever.

Join the Goodwin Club as a family and help ensure that our Panthers can continue to make memories that last a lifetime!

A donation of $250 per family unit provides support of the Goodwin Club along with the following benefits:

  • 2 adult admissions for all home, regular season athletic events ($250+ value)
  • Middle school and under kids are included in membership
  • 2 high-quality portable stadium seats in partnership with Panther Place and the Parent Association ($130 value)
  • Invite to an exclusive social before a home basketball game (specific date TBD)
  • Discounted tickets for special athletic department events, such as the 2026 Hall of Fame induction.

JOHN GOODWIN

John Goodwin’s connection with the Jesuits began in Spokane, where he attended Gonzaga Prep and in 1941 played on the last Gonzaga College football team. He took on teaching and coaching positions at Seattle Prep in 1948. Mr. Goodwin was the only true “Mr.” at that time – when the school was staffed almost exclusively by Jesuits.

Recognized for both his prowess in the classroom as a math teacher, John also established a remarkable tenure as the leader of the Panther football team. In the 1960’s, Goodwin-coached teams had a 21-game winning streak, with only one loss in a four year span, and State Championships in 1965 (the year he was named Seattle PI’s Sportsman of the Year) and 1966.
